Wayne Junior Porter

Wayne Junior Porter, age 73 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, went to his Heavenly home to be with his Lord Thursday, March 3, 2022, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, Kentucky. Wayne was born October 29, 1948, in Isonville, Kentucky a son of the late John and Cora Mae Wagoner Porter Wayne was a member of Watson Church for 7+ years. He worked with sawmills and was a farmer. Wayne loved spending time with his family, friends and going to church. He enjoyed listening to gospel music. Along with his parents Wayne is preceded in death by one infant son, Anthony Wayne Porter, two brothers, Buddy Porter and Kenneth Porter, two sisters, Yvonne Maxie and Rosemary Porter. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Margret Ann Barker Porter, one son, Christopher Porter of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, three daughters, Beverly Sloas and husband William, Donna Porter all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Angela Elam of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, three brothers, Roger Porter and wife Ellen, Charles Porter, Jessy Joe Porter all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, one sister, Daisy Porter of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, six grandchildren, Whitney Smith, Kelsey Smith, David Jesse Mabry, Rebecca Lynn Porter, Christopher Wayne Porter, Jr., Caden Sloas, two great grandchildren, Noah Morgan, Blake Morgan along with a host of family and friends that will sadly mourn his passing. The funeral will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Whitt and Sons Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky with brothers Larry Dale Ison and John Paul Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Whispering Pines Cemetery, Middle Fork Road, Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Friends may visit Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Whitt and Sons Funeral Home and one hour before the funeral on Sunday. Serving as pallbearers are Chris Porter, Jr., Chris Porter, William Sloas, John Morgan, Brian Morgan, Charles Elam, Donna Porter, Nigeal Smith and Lonnie Barker. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Franklin Wagoner, Elmo Wagoner, Elijah Hoffman and David Jesse Mabry. The family of Wayne Porter would like to give a special thank you to Hayden Salyers for helping them during this time.
