Ronald Dale "Worm" Adkins

Ronald Dale "Worm" Adkins age 76 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Sunday, October 01, 2023 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Mr. Adkins was born August 14, 1947 in Elliott County, Kentucky a son of the late George Walter and Mary Elsie Whitt Adkins. Worm was of the Baptist faith, he was a member of Pipefitters Local #248 in Ashland, Kentucky, and previously employed as a Carpenter. He was a farmer, loved John Deere tractors, farming, and notoriously known for pranking, telling jokes, looking at farming equipment, also loafing at the Penny Mart with his many friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded death by two brothers; Bobby Gale Adkins, and Edwin Adkins. He is survived by his wife of fifty five years; Judy Patrick Adkins of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, four sisters and their spouses; Fern Riley, Betty Jo "B.J." and Jeff Jarvis, Gwen and Bill Haggard all of Lexington, Kentucky, Jaqueline and Pete Samuelson of St. Petersburg, Florida. Nieces and nephews; Anthony Riley, Kristi Huff, Rebecca McShane,Robin Johnson, Kathy Souza, and Jennifer Barnes. Ranada Riley, great niece and nephew; Hailey McShane, Blake McShane, Trevor Riley, and Taylor Riley. Great - great niece and nephew; Hannah Johnson and Jacob Johnson, a very special sister in-law; Gloria Patrick along with a host of extended family and friends who will mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 05, 2023 at Whitt & Sons Funeral Chapel 1260 North Ky 7 Sandy Hook, Kentucky 41171 with Bro. Rick Lyons, Bro. Michael Lewis, and Bro. Herbie Stallard officiating. Burial will follow in the Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 04, 2023 at Whitt & Sons Funeral Home 1260 North Ky 7 Sandy Hook Kentucky 41171 and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday October 05, 2023 at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Brian Jenkins, David Fox, Mark Faulkner, Big Ed Fannin, Wendell Simmons, James Cassidy, Wincel Cassidy, and Eldon "Red Rock” Click. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Stephens, Dale Fannin, Carl Fannin, Tony Wheeler, Daryl Banks, Mike Cantrell, Keith Howard, Chris Howard, Travis Jenkins and in remembrance of Donnie Griffith and Ronnie Lewis along with his countless friends.
