Randy Lee Flanery

Randy Lee Flanery, born August 20th, 1964 in West Liberty, KY, went to his eternal home on June 7th, 2025 at UK St. Claire Hospital in Morehead, KY. Randy was the son of Vesta and the late JR Flanery, son-in-law to Austin and Kay Dickerson, brother to Timothy (Hildreth) Flanery, Patty (Vernon) Cox, and Scott (Amy) Dickerson. Randy was the devoted husband to Trina Dickerson Flanery, proud father to Jared (Paige) Flanery and Rachel (Justin) Coleman, and adoring grandfather to Noah and Eva Flanery. Randy was an uncle to a host of nieces and nephews for whom he loved dearly. Above all else, Randy was a devout man of God who served as a Deacon at Concord Enterprise Baptist Church, with some of his most special moments being able to hear Rachel sing his favorite hymns. Randy was truly a man of conviction, he loved his Savior with all his heart and emulated that on a daily basis. Randy loved his wife unconditionally, taking his last breath on their 39th wedding anniversary. Their marriage was full of selfless love and devotion, giving their children and grandchildren a beautiful example of love through all of life's stages. Randy felt so much joy spending time with his family. On most Sundays after church, he could be found on the golf course with Jared and was overjoyed when Noah, Eva, and Paige joined them. Randy could be called on at any moment, to help anyone who asked with admirable selflessness. He fixed countless appliances, clogged pipes, broken fences, water damaged floors, and escaped cows, never expecting anything in return. He worked for his family, friends, and neighbors with so much pride, only accepting perfection as the outcome. He was a carpenter and farmer, working side-by-side with his brother during the day, and coaching golf side-by-side with his son in the afternoons. Every morning, Randy cherished his daily phone calls with his sister, Patty, and taking care of his family farm. Randy never let distance come between him and his family. No matter how busy he was, he always made it a priority to travel to Florida where he could spend time being a devoted dad to his daughter and son-in-law. He sincerely cared for everyone's well-being. Randy was generous with his time and skill-set, using every opportunity God gave him to better the lives around him. Randy's visitation will be held at Whitt & Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 11th at 6 PM with the funeral to follow on Thursday, June 12th at 1 PM with visitation starting at 11 AM. until the service hour Brian Flannery and Ricky Lewis will be officiating his service. Burial will follow in the Flanery Family Cemetery.
