Marilyn Justine Rowe Johnson

Marilyn "Justine" Rowe Johnson age 83 of Grayson, Kentucky formerly of Newfoundland, Kentucky passed away Wednesday morning, June 16, 2010 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Justine was born November 16, 1926 in Elliott County, Kentucky the oldest child to the late Sam and Lena Rowe. She was a housewife and a retired merchant. Justine was a Chrstian and a member of Newfoundland Community Church where she greatly enjoyed attending services and singing in church. Preceding Justine in death, other than her parents are; her husband of fifty years; Arnold Johnson, one brother; Robert "Bobby" Rowe; one sister; Doris Jean Rowe; Maternal grandparents; Martin and Alice Flannery; Paternal grandparents; Tobe and Lucy Rowe, and several aunts, uncles, and special cousins. Surviving Justine are three sons and their spouses; Edwin and Mary Jo Johnson of Monclova, Ohio, Jimmy and Toni Johnson of Bruin, Kentucky and Glen David and Perlina Gaye Creech of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; one daughter and her spouse; Mary Kimberly and Donnie Whitt of Grayson, Kentucky all of whom will greatly miss their mother. Additional survivors include brothers and sisters; Brooks and Faye Rowe of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Betty Weddington of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Shirley and Robert Whisman of Bruin, Kentucky, Billie Joyce Pennington of New Paris, Ohio, Gay and Bob Grigson of Hillsboro, Kentucky, and Mary Lou Greene of North Carolina. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Janey Johnson Kegley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ruby Jo Johnson Bailey of Olive Hill, Kentucky; Timothy Johnson and Jeffrey Johnson both of Monclova, Ohio; two step grandchildren; Cynthia Creech Sturgill of Bruin, Kentucky, and Jesse Creech of Indiana, one great grandchild; Eric Johnson of Monclova, Ohio and one step great grandchild; Aaron Sturgill; one surviving aunt; Nannie Sparks of Bruin, Kentucky and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m June 19, 2010 in the chapel of Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Bro. Gayle Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Gray Family Cemetery at Newfoundland, Kentucky. Friends may call after 6:00-9:00 p.m Friday and after 9:00 a.m Saturday until the service hour at the funeral home. Edwin Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Glen David Creech, Donnie Whitt, Brooks Rowe, Gary Rowe, Timothy Johnson and Jesse Creech will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of the flowers the Johnson family cordially request that contributions be made "In memory of Justine Johnson" to Community Hospice Care Center, at 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, Kentucky 41101
