Kathryn Colegrove Justice

Kathryn Colegrove Justice, 82 of Sandy Hook Kentucky has changed addresses. On Sunday July 1, 2018 she became a citizen of the City of God. She was born in Cabell County W.Va. She and her husband Harold Justice would have been married 63 years on September 15, 2018. Combined, they have been Christians 130 years. Both Harold and Kathryn graduated from Man High School in Man, W.Va. Preceding Kathryn in death were her sainted mother Alva Colegrove and her father Jerry Colegrove, Two brothers, Robert Colegrove of Cleveland, Ohio and Thomas Colegrove of Panther, W.Va. Kathryn is survived by four sisters, Myrtle Hunt of Lorando W.Va., Fran Mullins of Palmetto, Florida, Shelba Lawhun and Diane Queen of Tamclift, West Virginia. Kathryn is the precious and devoted mother of Carla Atkins (Gary) and Philip Justice (Rebecca) of Sandy Hook, Ky. They are the crown jewels of her life. Her grandchildren are Kristen Carroll (Preston) of Sandy Hook, Ky., Leah and Lacy Blevins of Nashville, Tenn., and Garrett Mason Justice of Sandy Hook, Ky. What a great achievement if was by this grandmother when each grandchild was asked which one is granny’s favorite and one say “I am”. Granny’s first statement regarding the possibility of her passing was regretting the fact she would not see her great grandchildren. Grow up. She loved those great grandchildren Paisley Carroll, Kamden Carroll, and Patton Carroll dearly and the joy they brought to her especially in her last months of her life is immeasurable. Kathryn retired from Northeast Head start after 23 years. It was there, she became known as “Mrs. Kathryn”, a name that has followed her until now, by her former students, parents, family and friends. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law loved Kathryn as if she was their daughter. Urshell and Georgia Justice made it known that if they could have chosen their son Harold’s wife their choice would have been Kathryn. Edward R. Morrow, a noted CBS evening news anchor of yester year closed his nightly news broadcast with this phrase, “So long until tomorrow.” Kathryn’s husband Harold, her family, friends and neighbors borrow Mr. Morrow’s phrase “So long until tomorrow”, because they refuse to say goodbye. SO LONG UNTIL THAT GLAD REUNION DAY. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, July 05, 2018 in the Chapel of Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home with Brother Dean Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Justice Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Friends may visit after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and after 9:00 a.m.until the service hour Thursday.
