Judith Ann Pennington

Judith Ann Clevenger Pennington age 70 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away September 26,2017 at her residence. She was born January 16,1947 on Wells Creek in Elliott County to the late J.C. and Madelyn Clevenger. Judy's (aka JuJu and Judy Hope) incredible smile and genuine interest in people will be sorely missed in the community of the Frosty Freeze and in the lives of those who loved her. Someone recently said, her daily cup of coffee, cigarettes, and conversations were icons of mornings at the restaurant. Wednesday's menu tended to be her favorite-- soup beans, fried potatoes, onions, and cornbread. Judy enjoyed, spoiled, and scolded her twin grandchildren, Aiden and Allie, the children of her late son Courtney and Angela Stevens Pennington. She could banter with coffee-crusted, card dealing regulars, converse with CNN correspondents, and often offered a word of encouragement to family and friends. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one sister: Sandra Risner, and her one and only son: Courtney Seth Pennington, one grandchild: Tana Pennington. She is survived by her loving husband: Percy Pennington of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, three daughters: Tamera (Steve) Rehnborg of Winchester, Kentucky, Pamela (Michael) Clevenger of Morehead, Kentucky, Priscilla Pennington of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, one son: Paul Pennington of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, one sister: Lana Clevenger Hunt of Maysville, Kentucky, twelve grandchildren: Allie Jo Pennington, Aiden Seth Pennington both of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Abby Taylor Vaughan of Winchester, Kentucky, Olivia (Nolan) McCarty, Katherine (David) Rector, Anna Vaughan all of Lexington, Kentucky, Sarah Beth (Joey) Hignite of Olive Hill, Kentucky, River Clevenger, Heavan (Matt) Bryant all of Morehead, Kentucky, Nathan Lewis, Lisa (Brian) Howard all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, four great grandsons: Elijah Rector, Judah Vaughan, Atlas Rector, Jeremiah McCarty, two great granddaughters, Sadie Howard, and Serenity Lewis, her frosty freeze family, along with a host of family and friends that will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky with Steven Whitt and Tamera Rehnborg officiating. Burial will follow in the Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Serving as pallbearers; Steve Rehnborg, Aiden Pennington, Paul Pennington, Steven Whitt, William Waddell, Dale Adkins and Michael Clevenger. Honorary pallbearers; David Rector, Nolan McCarty, Junior Carter, Sammy Adkins, Nathan Lewis.
