James "Jim" Arthur Gibson

James “Jim”Arthur Gibson age 57 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, February 04, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Gibson was born October 06,1967 at West Liberty, Kentucky a son of Wayne Gibson of Medway,Ohio and the late Martha Diane Bays. Jim was a proud member of the Baptist faith, and his spiritual life reflected his values of kindness, generosity, and wit. He was a retired carpenter with Ashland Union Local #472, where he was respected not only for his skill but also for his unwavering work ethic. His craftsmanship was evident in every project he undertook, always bringing warmth and joy to the projects he helped build. Beyond the workshop, Jimmy was renowned for his winning streak at the pool table. He had an exceptional talent for the game, captivating his friends with both his skill and humor. Many cherished the countless afternoons spent with him, where the laughter was as constant as the sound of the pool balls clacking together. Jim also found joy in creating unique knives, reflecting his patience and artistry. His appreciation for antiques was a window into his soul, as each piece held a story that he loved to share. His love for horses was unmatched; riding was not merely a pastime for Jimmy, but a deep-seated passion that connected him to the beauty and spirit of life itself. Most cherished of all were the times he spent around the dinner table, enjoying home-cooked meals that were filled with love and laughter. Jim had a gift for storytelling and was always known for his quick wit, keeping everyone entertained as he recounted tales, both old and new. Jim leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and laughter that will continue to resonate with everyone who knew him. In addition to his father he is survived by one daughter; Erica Dawn Gibson of Dilas, New Jersey one brother; Timothy “Timmy” Gibson ( Tammy ) of Crockett, Kentucky, one sister; Deborah Manning of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Four nieces; Jessica Gibson, Sabrina Johnson, Sara Gibson, and Emily Manning. One great niece; Rayla and one great nephew; Damien along with a host of extended family and friends who will sadly mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 08, 2025 at Whitt & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Toby Roe officiating. Burial will follow in the Watson Cemetery. Friends may visit from 12 noon until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home.
