Eual Edward DeBord

Mr. Eual Edward DeBord age 93 of State Highway 711, Morehead, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 30, 2018 at his residence. Mr. DeBord was born May 23, 1925 in Carter County, Kentucky a son of the late Frank and Gladys Tabor DeBord. Eual was a Christian and had been a minister for 60 years; he was affiliated with the Blaine Union United Baptist Church. He was retired from GM where he worked in the Frigidaire Department; he was a farmer and had proudly served his country in the United States Navy. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife of 67 years; Nora Skaggs DeBord. One son; Gary DeBord. One brother; Billy DeBord, two sisters; Vivian Rice and Jonda Whitt. He is survived by his second wife of 4 ½ years; Sabrey Lucille Whitt Pennington DeBord of Morehead, Kentucky. One son and daughter in law; Martin and Brenda DeBord of Jamestown, Ohio. Four daughters and son in-laws; Phyllis Gregory of Tipp City, Ohio, Sherry and Gary Gregory of Port William, Ohio, Rita and Charles Fields of Wilmington, Ohio, and Lorene and Dan Thompson of Jamestown, Ohio. Three step sons and spouses; Ken and Colleen Pennington of Columbus, Ohio, Harold and Louise Pennington of Marysville, Ohio, and Brian and Amy Pennington of Columbus, Ohio. Two brothers; Bobby DeBord and Roger DeBord both of Zenia, Ohio. Four sisters; Betty Lawless, Virginia Plunkett, and Shirley Gordon all of Zenia, Ohio. Sue Turkson of Alliance, Ohio. Seventeen grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren along with a host of extended family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 04, 2019 at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Frank Blevins, Daris Lewis, and Jeff Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the DeBord Cemetery in Carter County. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family and Friends will be serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be presented by the Elliott County VFW Post 11428 at the funeral home immediately after the funeral service.
