Emily Kathleen Whitt Waddell

Emily Kathleen Whitt Waddell (Kat) age 83 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at her residence in Sandy Hook, Ky., after an extended illness. Kat was born on October 19, 1935 in Elliott County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Othie Donald Whitt and Dovie Evelyn Robinson Whitt. In addition to her parents, Kat is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ward Waddell. 4 brothers; George Whitt, Don Whitt, Vinson Whitt and Woody Whitt and 4 sisters; Mary Mauk, Dixie Elam, Nanny Myrtle Salyers and Julie Smith. Also, a son-in-law, whom she loved dearly, Tim D. Stephens and a dear friend Dixie Williams. She was a Christian and baptized in 2000. She attended Fannin and Laurel Gorge Church in Elliott County. She was a volunteer at the Elliott County Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed visiting with the people there. She was a homemaker, baby sitter, and caregiver. She enjoyed spending time with her family; taking drives with Nathan and Timmy, visits from Donnie, Kimberly, Charles, Daisy, Sue, Ricky, Junior, and especially from her great granddaughter “ Arri bug”, whom she played ball with. She had a furry dog friend, Pocco, whom she sometimes called Taco. She enjoyed listening to music; Ralph Stanley and Rick Skaggs were her favorites. She even loved her doctor, Amy Conley and Nurse Shanna Kidd at St. Claire Medical Center along with the Home Health nurses Amanda,Fonda, Layla and Amber. She is survived by 1 daughter, Sally Waddell Stephens of Sandy Hook, Ky., 1 sister, Barbara Sue Whitt of Grayson, Ky., 1 brother, Jim Whitt of Grayson Ky. 3 sister-in-laws; Dorothy Whitt of Sandy Hook, Ky., Helen Whitt of Xenia, OH., and JoAnn Whitt of Salyersville, Ky., 2 grandsons, Nathan Stephens, Timmy and Tammy Stephens, all of Sandy Hook, Ky. 2 great grandaughters, Alicia and Arri Fraley of Sandy Hook, Ky., 2 great granddaughters, 2 special nephews, Donnie Whitt and Charles Elam, and 1 special niece, Daisy Wells. Also, she has many extended family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2019, in the chapel of Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky with Brother Charles Skaggs officiating. Friends may visit 5:00 p.m. until the service hour, Sunday, February 17, 2019 Burial will be the following day, Monday, February 18,2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Waddell/Cox/ Skaggs Cemetery on Windy Meadows Road in Elliott County, Ky. Pallbearers are Nathan Stephens, Junior Issac, James Lewis, Donnie Whitt, Charles Elam, George Yates and Steven Whitt. Honorary Pallbearers are Timmy Stephens, Mike Gilliam, Roger Gilliam Jack Stafford and Ricky Adkins. .
