Delora Gail Ison Queen

Delora Gail Ison Queen, age 52 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Queen was born September 06, 1959 in West Liberty, Kentucky a daughter of the late Phillip and Wilma Jean Gillum Ison. Delora had held many positions during her working career such as enjoying many hours as a floral designer, police officer,and a U.P.S carrier. She was a member of the Teamsters Union and proudly served as a E-6 and held the rank of Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve for 12 years. Her many hobbies included; rock gardening, antiquing, and she loved spending time with her dog princess, her friends, family and especially her new grandson Briar. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Mark Queen, one son and daughter inlaw; Steven and Gena Maggard all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. One stepson Mark Aaron Queen of Grayson, Kentucky. One grandson; Briar Maggard of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. She is also survived by her step-mother; Carol Ison of Blaine, Kentucky; Two sisters and brother inlaw; Delena Peters of Morehead, Kentucky, Zanetta and Keith Ison of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. One brother and sister in-law; Phillip Jr. and Cindy Ison of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, One step brother and spouse; Anthony and Karen McDowell of Blaine, Kentucky. One nephew; Aaron, Five nieces; Christa, Taylor, Andraya, Morgan, and Makenzie. One step- nephew; Kyle and spouse Tabitha. One step-niece; Ashley; one grand nephew; Logan, one grand niece; Kaylee, and one step grand niece; Alliah. Along with a host of aunts, and uncles, extended family and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m Wednesday, August 08, 2012 in the chapel of the Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Bro. Lawrence Lewis,Bro. Gary Sparks and Bro.Franklin Gillum officiating. Burial will follow in the Ison Cemetery on Ison Creek Road. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m Tuesday evening, and after 9:00 a.m Wednesday until the service hour at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Elliott County VFW Post #11428. Pallbearers are; Aaron Peters, Jacob Preece, Bruce Gillum, Shannon Blevins, Anthony McDowell, and Ronnie Gillum.
