Armeda Joan Whitt

Armeda Joan Whitt age 87 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024, at her residence. Mrs. Whitt was born April 30, 1937, in Elliott County, Kentucky a daughter of the late William Lawrence and Mae Whitt Waddell. A devout born-again Christian, Armeda dedicated her life to her faith and her family. She was a longtime and cherished member of the Laurel Gorge Enterprise Baptist Church and also faithfully attended services at the Watson Enterprise Baptist Church. Her gentle spirit and unwavering faith were a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her. Armeda’s life was filled with simple joys. She found immense pleasure in tending to her vibrant garden and beautiful flowers, a testament to her nurturing nature. She was also an accomplished cook, Peaceful days spent fishing, and the precious time spent with family and friends brought her immeasurable happiness. Her warm smile and welcoming spirit created a comforting presence wherever she went. Her memory will forever be cherished for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and her love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire us all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years; John Ed Whitt, two brothers; Owen Waddell and Carl Waddell. She is survived by one daughter and son in-law; Joan and John Harris, one sister and brother in-law; Wanda and Larry Dickerson all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky along with a host of nephews, great nieces and nephews, church family and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Whitt & Sons Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rodney Gilliam and Bro. Franklin Gillum officiating. Burial will follow in the Waddell Family Cemetery at Ibex. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Mark Allen Waddell, Michael Waddell, Brian Dickerson, Zachary Waddell, Toby Roe, and Brian Flannery. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Larry Dickerson, Jason Dickerson, Denzil Adkins, and Tim Roseberry.
