Virgil Stamper Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Virgil Stamper age 64, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Tuesday May 3, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Virgil was born October 8, 1951 in Elliott County, Kentucky a son of the late Frank and Lena Bowling Stamper. Mr. Stamper was retired from the Elliott County Road Department and a member of the Morehead United Pentecostal Church. He loved playing music and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one son: Adam Stamper, one sister: Hazel Phillips, and one brother: Vernon Stamper. He is survived by one sister: Arlene Whitt of Springfield, Ohio, one sister-in-law: Murl Brown Stamper, two grandchildren: Phoenix Stamper and Ethan Stamper all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, along with a host of family and friends that will sadly mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 in the Chapel of Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home with Brother Michael Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Open Arms Cemetery on Salyers Branch Road. Friends may visit after 6 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at the funeral home. Masonic service will be conducted by Hepburn Masonic Lodge 576 F.&.A.M. at 7:00 p.m.
