Vena Mae Thornsberry Oliver Trent age 84 of Brown Ridge, Elliott County, Kentucky passed away Tuesday morning, March 06, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Trent was born December 7, 1928 in Ibex, Kentucky a daughter of the late Norman and Ila Mae Moore Thornsberry. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband of seven years, Vernal Van Oliver; her second husband of twenty years, Corbia Trent; three brothers, Tallmadge Thornsberry, Raymond Thornsberry, Infant Johnny Clinton Thornsberry; one sister, Myrtle Melvin; two daughters, Betty Lou Olive Noble, Marsha Ann Oliver; one grandson, Nathan Van Oliver. Vena was a homemaker and a member of the New Foundland Community Church. She is survived by one son, Gary Oliver of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two daughters and son-in-laws, Judy and Homer Fraley of Ruin, Kentucky, Sylvia and Elmo Jr Stigall of Elliottville, Kentucky; one brother, James Thornsberry of New Foundland, Kentucky; one sister Goldy Simmons of Brown Ridge, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Kevin Fraley, Brian Fraley, Vanessa Fraley, Daniel Oliver, Rebecca Click, Jonathan Stigall, Christopher Stigall, Nathaniel Adkins, Edward Ray Noble; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 in the Chapel of Waddell & Whitt with Brother George Stafford and Brother Jason Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornsberry Family Cemetery on Rowe Flat in Elliott County, Kentucky. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 and anytime until the service hour at the funeral home.
