Orville Joseph " Dutch" Flannery age 88 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Sunday evening April 14, 2013 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born April 23, 1924 in Elliott County, Kentucky a son of the late Ed and Ida Thornsberry Flannery. Dutch was a retired construction worker and a former Custodian with the Elliott County School System. He was a Christian and of the Baptist faith, and was a United States Army Veteran. In addition to his parents he is preceded by one son; Joseph Flannery and one daughter; Tonya Flannery, four brothers; Edward June "Buffalo" Flannery,Samuel Flannery, Johnny Flannery, and Jack Flannery. Three sisters; Colia Evans, Elouise Ferguson, and Eddie Flannery. Three sons and daughter inlaw; Jack Flannery, Donnie and Carolyn Flannery, and Jeff Flannery all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, two daughters and son inlaw; Margaret and Dave Wagoner of Isonville, Kentucky, and Kathy Flannery of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. One brother and sister inlaw; Virgil and Stella Flannery of Olive Hill, Kentucky. Two sisters; Roxie Kerley and Dollie Martin both of Dayton, Ohio. Eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home with Bro. Warren Vanover and Bro. Jason Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Flannery Cemetery on Stark Ridge. Friends may call from 6:00 -9:00 p.m Tuesday, April 16, 2013 and after 9:00 a.m Wednesday until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
