Olive Mae Blevins

Olive Blevins, age 93, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky was called to her heavenly home on January 28, 2022 at home. She was born November 05, 1928, a daughter of the late John and Bertha Simmons. Olive Mae was a devout Christian of the Baptist faith. She belonged to the Upper Bruin First Enterprise Baptist Church for 55 years, and spent her days faithfully leaning on the Lord. Olive lived every day inspiring those around her to glorify Jesus, through acts of charity and kindness. Olive and her late husband Johnie, were parents to 167 foster children. Olive was a mother to many people and made everyone feel welcome in her home. She was a great storyteller and always has words of encouragement when they were needed most. Olive believed in the power of prayer and would pray for family and friends multiple times throughout the day. Her family and friends will cherish her memory until they are joyfully reunited with her, on the day our Lord and Savior calls us home. In addition to her parents, she is proceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years Johnie Blevins, son John Blevins, daughter Debbie Lynn Elliott, son-in-law Bill Pennington, sisters; Loretta Jesse, Beulah Holbrook, Linda Prichard, Ruby Oney, brother; James Simmons, and grandson Nolan Elliott. She is survived by her loving family: one brother Johnie Milton Simmons, three daughters; Judy Blevins, Debra and husband David Wolfenbarger, Katie Pennington, one son Timothy and wife Sheila Blevins, eleven grandchildren: David Lee and wife Monica Wolfenbarger, Daneille and husband Chase Carter, Jonathan and wife Tera Pennington, Matthew and wife Brittany Blevins, Amelia Blevins, Dalton Blevins, Cole Blevins, Chelsi and husband Chris Vannatter, Travis and wife Sarah Elliott, Aaron and wife Erica Blevins, and Landon Harding, twelve great grandchildren: Asher Pennington, Hadassah Pennington, Selah Pennington, James Pennington, Zoe Pennington, Ashton Vannatter, Ava Vannatter, Charlie Blevins, Noah Elliott, Kaden Elliott, Kinsley Elliott, and Harrison Carter. In addition to friends and family, she is survived by special friends Steven and Nellie Fraley, and Teresa and Scott Cox. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 02, 2022 at Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church with Bro. Delmaine Griffith, Bro. Michael Lewis, and Bro. Ray Simmons officiating. Friends may visit after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 01, 2022 at Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church. Friends may also visit after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 02, 2022 until the hour of service at Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church. Pallbearers: Matthew Blevins, Jonathan Pennington, Dalton Blevins, Anthony Lewis, Richard Fraley, Danny Oney, and Chase Carter.
