Mollie Marie Stafford Mayse

December 22, 1929 - September 27, 2019

On Friday, September 27, 2019 Our Heavenly Father told Papaw Roy it was time for Him & Granny to be reunited. At 12:47 a.m. God dispatched his angel down to pick up Granny Marie for reunion time in Heaven. Next month October 10th Papaw Roy and Granny Marie will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary together in Heaven. Mollie Marie Stafford Mayse age 89 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed September 27, 2019 at the Elliott Co. Nursing & Rehab Center in Sandy Hook. Mrs. Mayse was born December 22, 1929in Elliott County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Harry Goble and Addie Adaline Holbrook Stafford. Granny Marie was so much to her family she was a wife, mother, a grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Among other things she was also a caretaker, babysitter, a wonderful cook, disciplinarian and a friend to all. She truly was the Matriarch of the Mayse family. Granny Marie worked as a homemaker raising her family, most of all she was a Christian and a member of the Fannin Enterprise Baptist Church serving the Lord and always being a light unto others, being a true example of being Christ like and always willing to testify her faith and love for her God. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband; Roy Ellis Mayse, brothers; James Milton Stafford, Russell Stafford, and Jack Stafford. One great grandchild; Trey Riggsby. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses; Kathy and Jimmy Adkins of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Ronnie and Debbie Mayse of White Oak, Kentucky, Vickie and David Fox, Roger and Teresa Mayse all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Grandchildren; Timothy Lee and Michelle Adkins, Jody Allen Mayse, Laura Marie Mayse, Misty Ladawn and Tony Higgins, Lacy Lynette and Jamie Frisby, Bryan Keith and Michelle Mayse, Brandy Nichole and Johnny B. Griffith. Great Grandchildren; Shelby Leigh Adkins, Jordan Bradley, Emilee Dennis, Bryce Dennis, Mckenzie Mayse, David Trace Frisby, Ben Frisby, Katy Eldridge, Maggie Lewis, Ryder Riggsby, Marissa Mayse, Hunter Mayse, and Terrance Mayse. Great-great-great grandchildren; Savannah Eldridge, Ayden Eldridge, and Chase Eldridge one brother; George Stafford and one sister; Imogene Skaggs both of Elliott County, Kentucky along with a host of extended family members, neighbors, church family, and countless friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2019 at Whitt & Sons Memorial Chapel with Brothers; Jason Ison, Charles Jr. Skaggs, Rick Pelfrey, George Stafford , and Bro. Billy T. Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Mayse Family Cemetery on South Ruin. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the service hour at Whitt & Sons. Serving as pallbearers; Tim Adkins, Jody Mayse, Bryan Mayse, Jordan Bradley, David Frisby, and Hunter Mayse. Serving as honorary pallbearers; Jimmy Adkins, David Fox, Grandchildren Great grandchildren, Great-great grandchildren and Granny Marie’s Elliott Co. Nursing & Rehab family and residents. Whitt & Sons Funeral Home is greatly honored to serve the Mayse Family at their time of need, for such a special lady and family, God bless you each and every one.
