Milton Simmons

August 28, 1930 - September 14, 2009

Milton G. Simmons age 79 of Rt 5 Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Monday evening September 14, 2009 at his residence. Milton was born August 28, 1930 in Elliott County, Kentucky a son of the late W.T and Ollie Wagoner Simmons. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Maynard Simmons, Chester Simmons, Dewey Simmons, and Tom Simmons. Two sisters; Jesse Fannin and Mary Thornsberry. Milton was a retired carpenter and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years; Susie Justice Simmons of Elliott County, Kentucky. One son; Gary Simmons of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Four daughters and sons in-law; Retha and Defford McDaniels of Fleming County, Kentucky, Shelly and Doug Caudill of Morgan County, Kentucky, Tammy Stephens, Cristal and Rick Kegley all of Elliott County, Kentucky. Eight grandchildren and Five great grandchildren survive. Milton also leaves behind many extended family, friends, and neighbors who will sadly mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m Thursday, September 17, 2009 in the chapel of the Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Bro. George Stafford and Bro. Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Elliott County Memory Gardens. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m Wednesday and anytime until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home. John Simmons, Joshua McDaniels, Brandon Kegley, Justin Simmons, Devin Stephens, Buddy Pennington, and Jason Johnson will serve as pallbearers. Gary Simmons, Defford McDaniels, Rick Kegley and Doug Caudill will serve as honorary pallbearers.
