Mae Whitt Waddell Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mae Whitt Waddell, age 88, of Route 3, Elliott County, Kentucky, passed away Friday morning, November 21, 2008, at her residence. She was born December 14, 1919, in Elliott County, Kentucky a daughter of the late James Eddie and Eliza Parsons Whitt. Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a homemaker, a Christian and a member of the Laurel Gorge Enterprise Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Waddell; two sons, Owen Waddell and Carl Waddell; four brothers, Roy Whitt, Ray Whitt, Kenneth Whitt and Richard Whitt; one sister, Jewell Maggard. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Armeda and John Ed Whitt, Wanda and Larry Dickerson all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Joan and John Harris, Mark and Serena Waddell, Brian and Angie Dickerson, Jason and Gladys Dickerson all of Elliott County, Kentucky, Micheal and Karen Waddell of Michigan; eight great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Smith of Sunberry, Ohio and Ethel Cox of Olive Hill, Kentucky. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral service will be held, 12:00 noon, Sunday, November 23, 2008, in the chapel of the Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, with Brother Jim Bawcum and Brother Billy T. Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Waddell Cemetery at Gimlet, Kentucky. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Saturday and until the service hour Sunday, at the Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
