Dora Stephens Turner age 77 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Turner was born October 25, 1938 in Elliott County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Wilson and Velarie Collier Stephens. Dora was a Christian and a member of the Middle Fork Church of God, she was retired from the Elliott Co. Board of Education where she worked as the manager in the cafeteria for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Willie Turner on December 01, 2015, Brothers; Curtis Stephens, Dallas Stephens, Denver Stephens and several infant brothers and sisters. She is survived by her family of; Four sons and spouses; Dale and Shirley Rucker of Ashland, Kentucky, Jeff and Leora Rucker of West Liberty, Kentucky, Edd Rucker of Sandy Hook, Kentucky and Chris Turner of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Two daughters and spouses; Cindy and Jamie Prewitt of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Cathy and Bill Smith of West Liberty, Kentucky. Three brothers and spouses; Ronnie and Cathy Stephens, Jimmy and Linda Stephens all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky and William and Isabelle Stephens of Frankfort, Kentucky. One sister; Opal Howard of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Fourteen Grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren along with a host of extended family and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Bro. John Paul Skaggs and Bro. Russell Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Stephens Cemetery on Rt 7 in Elliott Co. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 and after 9:00 a.m. until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral home.
