Betty Burton age 71, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Carter Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Burton was born February 08, 1945 in Elliott County, Kentucky daughter of the late Orville Burton and Florence Stevens. Betty was a homemaker and a caregiver and of the Christian faith. She loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three sons: Charles D. Burton, Kenny W. Burton, and James P. Burton, two sisters: Cliffie Smith and Mae Lewis, four brothers: Chester Burton, Arnold Burton, Gene Burton, and Ray Burton. She is survived by one son: Ernie (Wilma) Burton of Olive Hill, Kentucky, one daughter: Debbie Burton of Portsmouth, Ohio, one brother: Beecher Burton of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, five sisters: Faye Burton of West Liberty, Kentucky, Billie Porter of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Marie Bells of Ohio, Effie Westerman of Ohio, Ruby Burton of Ohio, two grandsons: Michael (Brittany) Burton of Olive Hill, Kentucky, James (Morgan) Burton of Ohio, Michelle (Bryan) Mayse of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, two grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Along with a host of family and friends that will sadly morn her passing. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky with Brother Charlie Skaggs and Brother John Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Burton Family Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Sunday until the service hour on Sunday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are: Michael Burton, James Burton, Donnie Flannery, Jeffery Flannery, Bryan Mayse, Ernie Burton. Honorary pallbearers are: Ralph Moore, Sam Felty, Ralph Burton, Larry Moore, Randy Moore, Goble Skaggs, Keith Burton, Jeff Moore.
