Roy Franklin Whitt

Roy Franklin Whitt, age 72, of Elliott County Kentucky passed away Tuesday March 12,2024 as a result of injuries sustained in an accident while on active duty with the Rt 504 Volunteer Fire Dept. Mr. Whitt was born February 25, 1952 in Olive Hill, Kentucky a son of the late Kenneth and Malinda Waddell Whitt. Frank was a born again Christian a retired heavy equipment operator and was a faithful member of Stark Church, dedicated member of the Rt. 504 Volunteer Fire Department, 42 year member of Hepburn Masonic Lodge #576 F & AM, he enjoyed farming, tending to cattle, gardening and spending time those he loved. No void will ever fill impression he left on everyone, a faithful servant to God, family, community, and anyone else who was in need. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his in-laws; Gene and Eileen Hall Porter, one sister in-law; Jessie Lewis. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn Porter Whitt, one son and daughter in-law; Roy Franklin Whitt, Jr and Jennifer, one daughter; Rita Jo Jackson, one brother; Garry Whitt, two sisters and brother in-law; Evelyn Morgan and Frank all of Elliott Co, Kentucky, and Louwanna Whitt of Olive Hill, Kentucky, four precious grandchildren; Sarah Greenhill (Kegan), Rebekah Jackson, Kiley Whitt, and Carver Whitt, one who he considered his own; Jasemine Ison, one special great granddaughter; Braley Jackson one, one sister in-law; Debbie Cox, one brother in-law; Royce Porter all of Elliott Co, Kentucky. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will sadly mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2024 at the Elliott County High School Gymnasium with Bro. Brian Flannery and Bro. Dwayne Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Porter Cemetery on Ruin. Family will begin receiving friends after 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024 and after 12 noon, Monday at the gymnasium until the service hour. Masonic services will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday by Hepburn Masonic Lodge #576 F&AM Full Firefighter Honor Guard services will be conducted and maintained for the entirety of the visitation, funeral service and graveside rites. Serving as pallbearers are Rt 504 Fire Department members and Ky Firefighter Honor Guard. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Family and Friends. Whitt & Sons Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
