Rosalie Ferguson Horton

Rosalie Horton, age 78, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Saturday, May 03, 2025 at the residence of her daughter. Mrs. Horton was born October 12, 1946 in Christiansburg, Ohio a daughter of the late Tomy Ferguson and Thursa Stevens. Rosalie was a Christian and a member of Middle Fork Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time in church and took great pride in working as an aid at Lakeside Elementary, Sandy Hook Elementary, and an office assistant at the Elliott County Rocky J. Adkins Library. She always greeted everyone with a smile and greatly valued spending time with her family and little dog Pepper. Rosalie always comforted her kids and grand babies and in return she spent her last days listening to her babies sing her favorite song “Thank You Lord for Your Blessings on Me”. She was a dedicated Christian and loved sharing the Lord with all. She is proceded in death by many loved ones including her parents; Tomy Ferguson, Thursa Jane Stevens, two brothers; William “Bill” Ferguson, Ray Ferguson, three sisters; Infant Dorthy Ferguson, Ollie Barker, Opal Waugh, one son-in-law; Chris Turner, one grandchild; Martha Nicole, four great grandchildren; Rykon Turner, Bo Williams, Grace Reinhardt, Malichi Thomas, two previous husbands; Pleas King, Jack Turner, and her precious fur baby; Pepper Sue. Rosalie is survived by many loved ones which include her beloved husband of 9 years; John Horton, two daughters; Rachel Trent “Kevin”, Martha Gibbs “Greg”, one son; James Robert King, four step-sons; Johnny Horton “Karen”, Jeff Horton, Rock Horton, Mark Horton, two step-daughters; Tracy Workman “Steve”, Trisha LeAnne O’Brien all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, eighteen grandchildren; Tessa Trent, Beverly Johnson, Mikayla Johnson, Pheba Trent, Josh Collins, Mary Noble, Jessie Williams, Zack Turner, Will Turner, Ali Sophia Gibbs, Greg Gibbs Jr., James King Jr., Justin King, Carrie King, Natasha King, Tori Owens, Jessie “Bit Bit” King, Isaiah King, many cherished great grandchildren, along with a host of extended family and friends whom will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m. May 08, 2025, at Middle Fork Church with Bro. Russell Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Whispering Pines Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Friends may visit after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 07, 2025 and 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 08,2025 until the service hour at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be; Mary Noble, Jessie Williams, Josh Collins, Austin Trent, Zack Turner, Will Turner. Serving as honorary pallbearers walking the last earthly steps with her will be her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
