Pearl Sparks

Lauraine Pearl Thompson Sparks age 92, of Elliott County, Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. She was born November 04, 1926 on Stark Ridge in Olive Hill, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William Thompson and Goldie Harper Thompson Harris. Pearl was of the Methodist Faith she attended the Stark Church in Sandy Hook, Kentucky and the Fairview Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky. She graduated from Morehead State University in 1968 with a masters degree, she taught school in Elliott County, Salem, Shady Grove, and Mauk School in South Lebanon, Ohio, then retired in July 1991 from Lakeside Elementary in Elliott County. She also belonged to the red hatters club, the United Methodist womens club, she wrote for the Elliott County News weekly her ad was called the Route 504, she traveled with the Jett Tours, also belonged to the Hospice Support Group in Olive Hill, Kentucky. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband: Windfred Sparks, Step father: Estill Harris, one brother: William (Bill) Thompson, three sisters: Ernestine Dickerson, Dana Estill White, Frances Catron. She is survived by: one daughter Peggy Ann Sparks Williams of Olive Hill, Kentucky, two granddaughters: Cinderella Lynn Haskett of Sandy Hook. Kentucky, Elizabeth Lauraine Logan, one great grandchild: Shyann Tiare Logan Pineda of Morehead, Kentucky, seven nieces and nephews: Pat Rose, Pearl Price, Barb Vincill, Bill White, Lois Smith, Mary Francis Colwell, Charles Dale Mobley, along with a host of family and friends that will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 in the Waddell & Whitt funeral chapel with Brother Warren Vanover officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris family cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Friends may visit after 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be: Bill White, Mark Walters, Timmy Harris, Dustin Kelly, Roy Rose, Tony Harris, Mike Price, Chuck Haskett, Abel Williams, Jason Rose, J. Trent, Clyde Hill.
