Mary Moore

Mary Evelyn Barker Moore, 82, of Stark Ridge Road in Elliott County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Everett and Minnie Barker passed away Friday July 31, 2026 in her home surrounded by the family she held dearest to her heart. Mary was a retired seamstress of Cowden’s Manufacturing in Olive Hill, Kentucky. She had a love for sewing that could most be appreciated through her beautiful quilts that she was so well known for. She also enjoyed crocheting, where she made the most beautiful rugs as well as handmade flowers that she always placed on her grandson, Devon’s grave More than anything, Mary loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mary was a member of Bairtown Church of God for the last 40 years. No matter how bad life would get her down, her faith in the Lord never wavered. She would attend church even when she could barely make it into the building, she never once stopped praising Jesus. Mary spent countless hours teaching her grandchildren their first Bible verse, John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” In addition to her beloved parents, she is proceeded in death by three sisters; Martha and Grover Reynolds of Crestline, Ohio, Lois and Paul Fannin of Isonville, Kentucky, Bessie Pauline Brown of Crestline, Ohio, two brothers; William “Bill” Barker of Crestline, Ohio, Vernon and Minnie Barker of New Washington Ohio; one grandson; Devon Charles Stafford of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, who was her pride and joy. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 58 years; Arlie Ray Moore; one daughter; Lisa and David Stafford of Olive Hill, Kentucky, one brother; Don Barker of Galion, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Shelby Barker of Crestline Ohio; two granddaughters; Danisha and Brian Lundsten of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and Nevaeh Stafford of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two grandsons; Joseph and Isaac Stafford of Olive Hill, Kentucky, three great grandsons; Zander and Glennon Lundsten of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; Bentley Holbrook of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; Raelynn Dawson whom she claimed and treated as her own great granddaughter, and Rebecca Holbrook, the Fiancé of her late grandson in which she treated just the same as any other grandchild. Mary also left behind an abundance of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and her wonderful church family who will also sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at Bairtown Church of God on Tuesday August 04, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Brother Elijah Wagoner and Brother Johnny Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the Moore Family Cemetery on Stark Ridge Road in Elliott County Kentucky. Family and Friends may visit from 6:00 PM on Monday August 03, 2026, at Whitt & Sons Funeral Home in Sandy hook Kentucky and from 12:00 PM on Tuesday August 04, 2026, until the service hour at the church. Serving as pallbearers are Danisha Lundsten, Brian Lundsten, David Stafford, Joseph Stafford, Isaac Stafford, Joseph Randolph and Glennon Lundsten. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Zander Lundsten and Bentley Holbrook
