Mabel Boggs Dickerson Lewis age 91 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away surrounded by her loving family April 25, 2011 at the Elliott County Nursing & Rehab Center in Sandy Hook. Mrs. Lewis was born December 19, 1919 in Elliott County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Lafayette and Kathryn Skaggs Boggs. Mabel was a homemaker, a Christian and a member of the Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband; Linza Dickerson and her second husband D.A "June" Lewis,Jr.two sons; Billy Dickerson and Roger Dickerson, one daughter; Janet Dickerson; one grandson; Todd Barnes; four sisters; Stella Gillum, Martha Oney, Lillian Thornberry, Goldie Stephens; three brothers; Tennyson Boggs,Lafayette Boggs, Jr. and Edison Boggs. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Eugene and Sheila Dickerson, Austin and Kay Dickerson all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Two daughters and sons in-law; Kathryn and Bill Barnes, Garnetta and Willie Pennington all of Morehead, Kentucky. Two stepsons and spouses; Jim and Reva Lewis of Ashland, Kentucky, Gary and Donna Lewis of Paintsville, Kentucky. One brother; Delbert Ludolph Boggs of Glendale, Arizona. One sister; Edna Childress of Smiths Grove, Kentucky. Grandchildren and spouses; Greg and Carolyn Barnes, Sharon and Greg Prewitt, Heather and Rodney Whitt, Lee and Jenny Pennington, Gina and Jerry Jenkins, Stacey and Greg Johnson, Kendra Dickerson, Trina and Randy Flanery, and Scott Dickerson. Great-grandchildren and spouses; Lindsey and Bub Petitt, Amanda Barnes, Jonathan Prewitt, Sarah and Taylor Whitt, Bailee and Macee Pennington, Jessie Jenkins, Austin Jenkins, Kelsey Johnson, Jared Flanery, Rachel Flanery. Great-great grandchildren; Maggie Pettit and Jonah Petitt. Along with a host of extended family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky with Bro. Ennis Lewis,Jr and Bro. Jim DeAtley officiating. Burial will follow in the Boggs Family Cemetery in Sandy Hook. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m Wednesday, April 27, 2011 and after 9:00 a.m Thursday until the service hour at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are; Scott Dickerson, Lee Pennington, Austin Jenkins, Jared Flanery,Chris Dickerson, and Ronnie Boggs.
