Loredia Jean Stevens

Loredia Jean Hutchinson Stevens age 84 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the residence of her daughter. Mrs. Stevens was born August 24, 1940, in Morgan County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Clyde and Jewell Hammons Hutchinson. Beyond her role as a homemaker, Loredia possessed many talents and passions. She found solace and inspiration in the worlds contained within the pages of her books, spending countless hours lost in captivating stories. Her fingers were also adept at sewing, crafting beautiful and practical items for her family and friends. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of shopping and, most of all, treasured the time spent with her precious grandchildren. These moments brought her immeasurable happiness, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Loredia was known for her always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. Her quiet strength and unwavering love provided comfort and support to all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings; L.D. Hutchinson, Jerry Hutchinson, Nicky Hutchinson, John Harve Hutchinson, Ardene Cooper (Horace), and Shirley Joy Johnson (Earl) and sister in-law; Eula Hutchinson. She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years; Junior Dale Stevens, one daughter and son in-law; Angie and Charles Ray Pennington all of Sandy Hook. One brother; Robert Hutchinson of West Liberty, two sisters and their spouses; Lois and Bill Black of Morehead, and Patsy and Carl Mosley of McDowell. Three granddaughters and their spouses; Whitney and Ryan Eldridge of Sandy Hook, Audrey and Cole Kiser of Grayson and Megan and Javen Smallwood of Frenchburg, one great grandson; Ethan Eldridge, sisters in-law; Mary Jo Hutchinson, and Karen Hutchinson, a special cousin and spouse; Charles and Francis Mullins all of West Liberty, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Whitt & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cole Kiser and Bro. Dean Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Ryan Eldridge, Cole Kiser, Javen Smallwood, Darin Johnson, Scott Black and Robbie Fannin.
