Delmas Edgar Griffith

Delmas Edgar Griffith, age 65 of Skaggs Flatt Road in Elliott County, Kentucky passed away Wednesday evening at St Claire Regional Medical Center Morehead, Kentucky. Mr. Griffith was born November 25, 1945 at Bruin, Kentucky a son of the late Boyd and Thelma Ison Griffith. Delmas was a Christian and attended the Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church. He was self employed as a mechanic, well known for his wrecker service, and a farmer. A United States Army Veteran, and a member of the Hepburn Masonic Lodge #576 F & AM for 35 years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother; Harold Dean Griffith. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-one years; Joann Goodman Griffith of Elliott County, Kentucky. One daughter and son in-law; Darlena Jo and Michael Tussey of Hitchins, Kentucky. One son; Delmas Edgar Griffith, Jr. of Elliott County, Kentucky. Three brothers and sisters in-law; Donnie Griffith of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, L.D and Rebecca Griffith of Inez, Kentucky, and Gary and Libby Griffith. One sister and brother in-law; Brenda and Donnie Howard all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Five precious grandchildren; Paige Johnson, Ishiah Griffith, Karlie Tussey, Hannah Tussey, and Gabriel Perry. Along with a host of extended family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church with Bro. Ennis Lewis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Griffith Family Cemetery at Bruin. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m Saturday, June 18, 2011 and anytime until the service hour at the church. A masonic service will be held starting at 7:00 p.m at the church. Also military graveside rites will be conducted by Sandy Hook VFW Post #11428. Pallbearers are: Jimmy Crispen, Justin Griffith, Johnny Griffith, Dustin Howard, Tony Griffith, D.J Howard, Roscoe Click, and Ricky Lewis.
