Clell Milton Simmons

Clell Milton Simmons age 83 of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Monday, May 03, 2021 at the ARH in West Liberty. Mr. Simmons was born May 14, 1937 in Elliott County, Kentucky a son of the late Taylor and Clara Sue Stafford Simmons. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother; Ernest Simmons, one sister; Vivian Simmons Brown, and a infant granddaughter; Amber Dawn Engle. Clell was a loving husband, dad, papaw and grandpap. He was a member of the Newfoundland Community Church for more than 50 years. He worked as a carpenter and farmer for over 30 years until he was hurt on the job. Clell enjoyed fishing, running his beagles, hunting, working in the garden with his life mate Vicia and spending time with his family he found great joy in serving the Lord. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years; Vicia Elizabeth Skaggs Simmons, Four children; Krista Lynn and Jim Engle, Timothy Milton Simmons and Maudie, all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Rodney Keith and Angela Simmons, Elizabeth Renee' and Les Viars all of Olive Hill, Kentucky. Two brothers; J.H and Jean Simmons of Mansfield, Ohio, Leo and Delma Simmons of Lansing, Michigan, one sister; Ida and H.B Fannin of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Seven grandchildren; Sandy and Jerry Moore of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Megan and Sarah Simmons of Boynton Beach, Florida, Andrew and Stephany Simmons, Zach and Desteny Skaggs, Arianna and Donovan Sloas, Caleb and Kaleigh Skaggs, Anna Skaggs all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Adrianna and Steven Fleming of Mount Sterling, Kentucky,. Lauren and Matt May of Frankfort, Kentucky and his little canine companion Payton, 19 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends and his church family that will sadly mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 07, 2021 at Whitt & Sons Chapel with Bro. Markey Howard and Bro. Shannon Maggard officiating, Burial will follow in the Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook, Friends may visit after 5:00 p.m. Thursday, May 06, 2021 and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers; Jerry Moore, Andrew Simmons, Caleb Skaggs, Zack Skaggs, Ethan Moore and Donovan Sloas. Serving as honorary pallbearers; Jim Engle, Tim Simmons, Rod Simmons, Les Viars, Dave Creech, Dennis Boggs, Ray Barker, Shannon Maggard and a host of nephews and many friends.
