Bobby Dillon Bishop

Sometimes on earth, there are souls that leave us too soon, but not before making a positive impact on everyone they meet. That describes Bobby Dillon Bishop. Dillon was born on December 11, 1998. He passed away from this life on March 12, 2023 at age 24. He has been reunited with his maternal papaw, Cecil Lewis, his paternal grandfather, Donald Bishop and a brother, Donald Bishop who all preceded him in death. Left to mourn his passing are his mom Julie Lewis and father Bobby Bishop, his maternal mamaw, Jean Lewis, and his paternal grandmother, Molly Bishop. He is also survived by siblings, Hunter, Brittany, Brandon, and Darron, as well as aunts and uncles Tami (Scott) Cassell, Michael (Johanna) Lewis, Amy (Richard) Naylor, Sheri (Scott) Fairchild, Danny Bishop, Sheri Bishop, and Janie Bishop. Dillon was also close to many of his cousins. Ryan, Eric, Michael, Gage, Madilyn, Noah, Katelyn, Jacob, Hannah, Evelyn and so many others are heartbroken at his passing, as well as many great aunts and great uncles, friends, coworkers, and former classmates, school staff, and teachers. Dillon imagined the world beyond the Eastern Kentucky hills and he had dreams of exploring it. He wasn't content to sit and let life happen to him. He was fearless and passionate about travel. He would hop on a plane or jump in the car and end up in the Carolinas or in California or other places in between. Dillon also loved music, comedy, laughter, photography, and cooking. Dillon had a humble spirit, a big heart, and a huge sense of humor. He had created an extended family out of all the people he met. Reading through the many posts on Facebook from people who loved him, it paints a picture of how important he was to so many. Everyone who knew him has at least one Dillon story. A memory that makes us smile or laugh that we will never forget. And that's what he would want us to always remember about him. He loved to make people happy and he would want to know we think of him with a smile. His loss will always be felt. He left us all better than he found us. It hurts now, but Dillon would want us to find our way through this and to carry on his legacy of love and laughter. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Brother David Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Hutchinson Cemetery on Newcombe. Friends may visit after 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023 and anytime until the service hour on Saturday at the church.
